Opening Night

Craft Alliance, 6640 Delmar hosts the opening reception for artist Fidencio Fifield-Perez on Friday, August 30, 6 PM to 8 PM.  Fidencio Fifield-Perez faces scrutiny and political debate every day in the United States. Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, his family migrated to North Carolina for a better life and more opportunities. Fifield-Perez was raised in North Carolina and attended Memphis College of Art for a BFA. Upon graduating from MCA, Fifield-Perez applied for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) which allowed him to attend The University of Iowa for an MA and an MFA. His work explores his personal experiences with immigration and the concept of home. He uses craft techniques and family traditions to create his visual language. Bedouine at Vintage Vinyl
