For most of us normal folks, drinking free with a rock band just doesn’t happen. Lucky for us Heartless Bastards is coming to St. Louis to preform tracks off their latest album, “Arrows.” But before they take the stage at The Firebird February 8th, they will be performing a special afternoon set at Vintage Vinyl. Sadly “Arrows” won’t be out till February 14th, but if you pre-buy the record that afternoon you will receive a very special and very limited edition Heartless Bastards in-store event poster that the band will be signing after their performance. There will also be free Schlafly Beer for those of legal drinking age.

Our fantastic story teller Georgy Rock is leaving us to pursue an opportunity she couldn’t pass up, so Halloween night is our fond farewell to The Story Lady.  We will miss her on Thursdays.

On Halloween night we’ll have storytime for the 7 and unders with costumes, decorations, party favors and Halloween Stories!  And I  think I heard Georgy say that she was excited to bring out her witch hat.

Just show up at 7:00pm and we’ll give it a whirl.  No purchase necessary to participate although there will be copies available for purchase and the authors will be on-hand to sign and explain.  THE RECORDSETTER BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS is a celebration of the nuttiness and obsessives in all of us, RecordSetter is the new world record-setting phenomenon, a website that believes everyone can be the world’s best at something-and where 80,000 people a month come to prove it, or just enjoy watching.  Subterranean Books WILL ALSO TRY TO BREAK THE RECORD FOR Most Colors Incorporated Into a Sidewalk Chalk Drawing of the St. Louis Arch.  But that will be ongoing throughout the day and depends on whether there’s snow or rain.
